The Peddler's Curse, a poem

THE PEDDLER'S CURSE
A Poem

Hui Zong was a noble guy
But he had to say goodbye
For the Jurchen were on their way
Marching towards the bay

Hui was scared, what would he do?
What if the peddler's curse came true?
So he made a silly truce
But his kingdom fell a little loose

The Jurchen caught and captured Hui
His family was included too
 The peddler's curse was right
And it all ended in a fight

ABOUT:

I have currently been learning about the history of China at school. We just finished the whole lesson, and our teacher created an assignment, which was to write a poem about something we learned in China. This poem is about Hui Zong, an emperor during the Song dynasty. He apparently met a peddler, who was asking Hui if he wanted a simple Chinese pancake. The poor peddler was being very kind, but Hui Zong refused to take such a "dirty" old pancake. This was very rude of him. The peddler told Hui that at his fate, he would wish to have taken the pancake. Later, a northern tribe called the Jurchen, invaded China and captured Hui Zong and his family. How he pleaded to have taken the Chinese pancake.
