And you thought dragons didn’t exist! But they do. I’ve seen one. I’ve seen one in person. Google says dragons don't exist, Safari says dragons aren’t real, and even Wikipedia says dragons have never been found. You have to believe me. I can show you one! Well at least my grandmother can show you one.
When I was born, I got a present from my great grandmother. It was an egg. I would watch it every single day, but nothing would happen. My parents told me it’s rotting, and I should throw it away. My friends said it probably was just a joke. But I didn’t believe them. Soon, one day the egg hatched. What hatched? A baby dragon. I told my mom, my dad, and my BFF. NO ONE would believe me. I wanted to show them the dragon. But then again they wouldn’t let me keep it. But I still wanted to show someone. So, I showed my BFF, Paige.

She screamed when she saw the baby dragon. The dragon was pale pink and had kind, emerald green eyes. It was about a foot and a half tall. Scales covered its entire body. The unique creature had long, pointy wings. His claws weren't fully developed making him look even more harmless. The dragon sat quietly and gazed up at Paige like she was a giant.
I told her it wasn't dangerous. Paige told me we should show Anna, another friend of ours, because Anna knew animals very well. I agreed. Anna did a lot of research and finally came to a conclusion. It was a Komodo dragon. We looked at Anna like she was crazy. How could this pink creature with wings be a Komodo dragon? We humored her and let Anna do tests on the dragon. Finally, Anna agreed it was a real dragon. You know, the kind from fantasy books? Paige decided to take the dragon to her house because she had a bunch a of food and toys that would suit him.
After a month or so, the dragon got bigger and bigger! Paige said the dragon was too much to handle, and she gave it back to me. After a while of looking, I found a suitable den made out of sticks. It fit the dragon perfectly. And on rainy days, you can put a wide cover on top of it. The dragon seemed to love his new home. Every few days, Anna and Paige came to visit.
One day Anna said he needs a name. Paige replied, “Henry, that's his name! Henry the dragon!” We all agreed that was a cute name. The problem was, Henry did NOT stay cute. As he got bigger the more wise he got. Soon he knew how to get his own food, read, and write! He also grew out of his den. Now the whole backyard was the dragon's playground. He didn't need us any more. I finally got the courage to send Henry out in the woods. Anna, Paige, and I said bye. And we never saw the dragon again.
