Everyone was running. My parents didn’t tell me why. It was just one word: Run. I kept on thinking, was it a murder? No. Was it a robbery? I don’t think so. As ran, I couldn’t find my parents or brother. But it wasn’t time to worry about that. I was running behind. Which, wasn’t really a surprise, cause I am really slow. Suddenly, electricity ran through my body making me catch up to the front. I wanted to stop running and ask someone what is happening, but for some reason, I couldn’t. Sweat ran through my face. Then, I jumped. No one else did. In fact, all their faces disappeared. I was guessing, that I didn’t make a very good choice.
100 YEARS LATER
Sand brushed against my face. I woke up. Was this heaven? No, it couldn’t be, this looked just like earth. Then, I thought, If I’m alive, everyone else should be too. Right? This place looked just like where I jumped. I tried climbing out. It took me a long time to finally get out. I ran to the nearest person. It was a boy, I think. He had one eye and brown hair. All he wore was a cloth to cover his private. Kind of like cave men. His one eye was a dark red. It was freaky. People usually don’t have those kinds of features. “Hi! My name is Ruchi and do you know the person named D - H - R - U - V?” I asked. Dhruv was my brother. He shook his head. “Wait, this is earth, right?” He shook his again confused. “This is Oflao. My name is Komokaya. I show you around.” I was scared. I was the only person left from earth. “Sure” I answered.
“This is my home. Come in, you look hungry.” Komokaya said in a friendly voice. His house was strange. I walked in. He gestured me to the table and I sat down. A girl walked in who looked just like Komokaya. “That is my sister Coya.” Coya sat down next to me. “Hi, you look different from the rest of us, where are you from?” Coya asked politely.
“Earth. Do you know that planet?” I replied.
“Yes, but we fear it. The sun ate that planet. I guess that’s how Earthian people look like. ”
I couldn’t help but laugh. Komokaya and Coya looked at me strangely and I stopped laughing. They handed me some potato skins. “These are called Kokkaee skins. Try them, they're delicious.” Komokaya told me.
“I know. We have these at earth. Their called Potato skins.”
“Interesting. I’d love to have you here” Coya responded.
“Do you have parents?” I asked with my mouth full.
“No, no one here has parents. By the time we turn fifteen we get hung and killed.” Coya said.
“No, Coya, we learned this, everyone gets killed in a different way.”
I was very scared now. Komokaya was thirteen and Coya was nine, the same age as me.
“Why?”
“Our leader, Comaki, thinks that we already took out too much population. Comaki is fifty - three. He’s the only one who gets to stay alive. ”
“Well, then how do you get born?”
“That’s a stupid question. Isn’t it the same in the earth? Comaki's wife gave birth to five kids, each one gave birth to more. The children gave birth to more children, and so on.”
“Wait, so you guys are all technically related to Comaki ?!”
Coya shrugged and Komokaya led me upstairs. He said I’d share a room with Coya. I’d rather share a room with Komokaya, but I didn’t want to be rude, so I agreed. I went to the room and their was no bed. “Where do we sleep?!” I blurted out.
“Sleep? What’s that?” Coya asked confused.
“Nothing.” I answered. I decided to get comfortable since I’d be here for the rest of my life, aka six more years. Soon, there was a knock on the door. All three of us ran to get it.
“Comaki!” Coya yelled.
“Hello Coya. And who is this earthian friend of yours?”
“How did you know that I was from earth?” I asked.
Comaki pointed to my two eyes and I nodded.
“Since you’re from earth, you deserve to be killed right now” Comaki said sternly.
“But-” Komokaya said.
Comaki held out a knife and sliced it through my body and I closed my eyes.
Soon, I opened them. I was alive. No blood spots, nothing.
“Ahhhhh… So I see she’s immortal.”I was about to faint. Immotal?! Living forevor?!
